- Catriona's passion for yoga was first ignited during a trip to India in 2009 where she huffed and puffed her way through a class, suddenly realising that yoga actually helped her relax and unwind. On returning to Glasgow, she discovered Vinyasa Flow Yoga, established her own regular self practice and found that this helped calm the body and mind after busy days at work as a social worker. In 2013, she embarked on a two month intensive Hatha Yoga course in Thailand. Following this, she spent several weeks in an Indian ashram studying meditation and Sivananda style Yoga before going on to complete teacher training in Ashtanga/ Vinyasa Flow in Goa, India. Catriona also completed courses in Iyengar, Yin Yoga, Kids and Family Yoga which has given her a great passion and respect for all traditions of yoga. After completing teacher training, she discovered Yogability and felt so inspired by their work. She began volunteering whilst continuing to work as a mental health social worker. Catriona has a keen interested in how yoga philosophy, practice and techniques can improve mental health and wellbeing and is passionate about working with individuals who may experience barriers in accessing mainstream yoga classes. She believes in offering a safe, supportive and fun environment in classes and found this was exactly what Yogability were already doing! She recently finished up her work as a social worker to continue yoga learning and teaching and has never looked back. Catriona will be working with Yogability and establishing classes from April onwards as well as running the volunteering for Yogability
